Like many professionals, I balance a number of roles — county executive, wife, mother, grandmother, coach, trainer, and business owner. These experiences have shaped both my leadership perspective and my coaching approach.
With more than 35 years of leadership experience in state and county government, 10 years in the private sector, a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership, an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential through the International Coaching Federation, and a DISC Certified Practitioner, I bring a practical, experience-driven approach to personal and professional growth.

My Story
Mary Lawrence-Jones is the founder and CEO of LTJ Consulting, a management and coaching business. Mary works with organizations on numerous topics, some of which includes strategic planning, leadership development, team building and creating organizational cultures that honor and value diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
Mary has worked as a public servant in various leadership and executive positions for more than 30 years, leading successful enforcement and administrative support teams at the Sacramento Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) and the California Franchise Tax Board. She also served as a Regional Administrator with the State DCSS where she provided oversight to five of the largest child support agencies in the State of California and one of the largest in the nation, i.e., Los Angeles. In additional she worked with many child support agencies in both the Bay area and Central regions of California.
During her journey, she created collaborative partnerships with judicial officers, court and federal administrators, attorneys, advocates and program directors throughout the State of California. In recognition of her skills, she is one of the recipients of the Child Support Directors Association, William R. Knudson awards. This prestigious award recognizes exemplary leadership, collaboration and program improvements in services to California’s children and families statewide.
In addition to her executive leadership role with the County of Sacramento, Mary has served for several years as an adjunct instructor at William Jessup University, where she taught Leadership and Business Ethics. She also taught leadership courses through California State University and served as an instructor and executive coach with the Sacramento Valley Leadership Academy, where she developed and coached leaders from a variety of county and city agencies.
In addition to leading LTJ Consulting, Mary partners with Gray's Peak Strategies and several emerging organizations to provide executive coaching, leadership development, strategic consulting, and organizational effectiveness services.
Mary holds a Master of Arts degree with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership and an Executive Certificate in Public and Non-Profit Leadership; both from the University of Massachusetts Global. Mary earned a Bachelor of Science degree, from Southern Illinois University, in Carbondale IL. In pursuit of her dream of serving, supporting and building new leaders, she holds an Executive Certificate in Coaching and Leadership from the Academy of Creative Coaching and is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) through the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Mary is a wife, mother and grandmother and believes that her calling in life is to serve others.
